"People are VERY disappointed in Jay Powell and the Federal Reserve,” the president Tweeted. “The Fed has called it wrong from the beginning, too fast, too slow.”
Trump also called the Fed a bigger “problem” for the U.S. economy than China. The criticism comes amid a trade back-and-forth between the world’s two biggest economies that has hampered businesses and consumers.
Trump’s latest attacks on the Fed came a day after the bank’s policy makers cut rates by 25 basis points to a target range of 1.5% to 1.75%.
