A man who was convicted of bank fraud in 2011 as part of a mortgage scam has been charged in connection with an alleged sports betting scheme. So reports Salt Lake City’s KSL.

Christopher Hales of Utah was in a halfway house in 2018 when he co-founded a fraudulent sports betting company, taking almost $7 million in investments for his and his associates’ personal use, according to federal authorities.
Hales’ previous mortgage fraud resulted in a nearly eight-year prison sentence and $12.7 million in restitution.
