Michigan Developer Indicted for Mortgage Fraud, Tax Evasion

A Michigan real estate developer has been federally indicted for mortgage fraud, tax evasion and false statements to tax authorities. So reports the Lansing State Journal.

Scott Chappelle ran the real estate and property management companies Terra Management Co., Strathmore Development Co. and Terra Holding.

Among other allegations, Chappelle is charged with failing to pay more than $830,000 in employment taxes withheld from employee wages from 2010 to 2019.
