Two Found Guilty of Scamming 800 'Desperate' Homeowners

A federal jury in Cincinnati has found two people guilty for taking part in a foreclosure rescue scam that prosecutors say duped almost 800 homeowners nationwide. So reports MarketWatch.

Scam road sign 464653 1920 300x300The jury convicted Lorin Kal Buckner, 66, of Hamilton, and Dessalines Sealy, 59, of Brooklyn, New York. Two other members of the group pleaded guilty during the trial, and nine defendants still face charges.

The scheme, which offered to help distressed homeowners keep their homes in exchange for a fee, preyed on “vulnerable, financially-distressed and desperate homeowners,” prosecutors said.
