A man was sentenced to more than 12 1/2 years in federal prison for defrauding more than 2,000 homeowners to the tune of $7.6 million, according to authorities. So reports the Associated Press.
U.S. District Judge Dale S. Fischer said Patrick Soria of West Hollywood, Calif., was “a skillful conman who created a very sophisticated scheme,” per a statement from the U.S. attorney’s office.
“This is not the largest case I have presided over in terms of dollars, but it is the most brazen and heartless,” Fischer said of the mortgage fraud scheme.
