FCC Clamps Down on Mortgage 'Scam' Robocalls

The Federal Communications Commission has taken steps to, as the agency puts it, “shut down an apparent homeowner-focused robocall scam campaign.” So reports CNET.

Scam road sign 464653 1920 150x150The FCC warned U.S. voice providers to block what it said was a junk call campaign by MV Realty, a Florida-based real estate brokerage firm, which allegedly left millions of pre-recorded voicemails using the dialing platform PhoneBurner.

“Mortgage scams are some of the most pernicious types of robocalls we see,” FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said in a statement.
