Record Numbers Think It’s a Bad Time to Buy a Home: Fannie Mae

Americans’ outlook about buying a home is its gloomiest since Fannie Mae began keeping track in 2010, but low interest rates combined with higher savings rates during the pandemic have many still wanting to take the plunge. So reports MarketWatch.

Fannie Mae2 150x150Just 35% of consumers say it’s a good time to buy a home, while 67% say it’s a good time to sell, according to the latest data from Fannie Mae.

“Consumers appear to be acutely aware of higher home prices and the low supply of homes, the two reasons cited most frequently for that particular sentiment," Doug Duncan, Fannie Mae chief economist and senior vice president, said in a statement.
