Economy Revs Up With 6.4% GDP Gain in First Quarter

The U.S. economy roared to life to start the year, as a government report found that gross domestic product climbed by an annualized 6.4% in the first quarter. So reports CNBC.

arrow 2790272 640 100x100The pace was the second-fastest clip since the second quarter of 2003, topped only by the post-lockdown surge of Q3 2020.

A separate report from the Department of Labor found that first-time unemployment claims edged down the previous week, to their own post-pandemic low.
