Landlords Sue to Block New Biden Eviction Moratorium

A group of landlords and real estate businesses asked a federal judge to block enforcement of a new Biden administration moratorium on evictions, put in place after the previous moratorium expired. So reports CNN.

house 167734 640smallThe group argued that the moratorium, which applies to areas with high or substantial COVID-19 transmission, amounts to an “extension” of the “same unlawful ban on evictions that has been in effect since September 2020.”

As NBC separately reports, the judge has signaled that she will move to consider the case quickly.
