Mortgage Rates Leveled Off in Wait for Fed

Mortgage rates sat tight in the week leading up to the Federal Reserve’s rate cut announcement. So reports The Durango Herald.

!--more-->According to the latest data from Freddie Mac, the 30-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 3.75% for the week ending August 1. That was unchanged from the previous week but still historically low, down from 4.60% a year earlier.

The 15-year fixed-rate average edged higher to 3.20%, versus 3.18% the previous week and 4.08% in 2018.
