Wells Fargo Scores Early Win in Mortgage Discrimination Lawsuit

A judge has granted Wells Fargo’s request to dismiss a lawsuit that claims the bank discriminated against minority mortgage borrowers during the run-up to the 2008 financial crisis. So reports Bloomberg.

wells fargo 150x150The judge ruled that the complaint filed in 2021 by three Georgia counties failed to say enough about alleged discrimination in the period covered by the Fair Housing Act, which only goes back two years.

Fulton, DeKalb, and Cobb counties may take up to 30 days to amend the complaint with more specifics, U.S. District Judge Michael Brown wrote in the March 22 order.
