According to allegations in court documents, Harold “Heshy” Tischler orchestrated an arrangement that included taking over an address from his sister, who has Down’s Syndrome. Tischler took out a $650,000 mortgage on the Brooklyn property in 2006.
The title of the home has changed hands more than once in the ongoing legal battle, and Tischler declared bankruptcy in 2015, but the mortgage debt is still outstanding, and Tischler’s creditors have been fighting for it in court.
