White House Proposes Slashing GSEs’ Affordability Programs

The Trump administration’s proposed budget would eliminate the money that goes to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for two affordable housing programs. So reports MarketWatch.

!--more-->One area of proposed cuts is the Housing Trust Fund, which the government-sponsored enterprises put toward affordable rental housing nationwide.

The other target of cuts is the Capital Magnet Fund, which supports community development and affordable housing groups with an aim of luring private capital to economically troubled regions.
