U.S. Mortgage Rates Fall to 12th Record Low of 2020

As votes were being counted in the presidential election, U.S. mortgage rates returned to record-low territory. So reports United Press International.

According to Freddie Mac, the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 2.78% for the week ending November 5, the 12th all-time low this year.

Zillow economist Matthew Speakman said that this time mortgage rates fell in part because bond investors seemed to believe the uncertain Election Night results reduced the likelihood of near-term economic stimulus.
