Q3 Home Equity Jumps 51%, or $457B

U.S. homeowners with mortgages saw their equity rise by 5.1% in the third quarter of 2019 from the same period a year earlier, representing an almost $457 billion gain. That’s according to CoreLogic’s latest Home Equity Report.

-more-->The average homeowner gained $5,300 in home equity from the third quarter of 2018 to the third quarter of 2019, CoreLogic said.

Among the states with the biggest increases were Idaho (an average gain of $25,800), Wyoming ($24,000), Utah ($21,000) and Montana ($17,800).
