Mortgage Rates Level Off, But Lenders’ Offerings Vary

Mortgage rates were little changed last week, holding close to their all-time lows, but borrowers who were willing to shop around could see a range of different numbers. So reports MoneyWise.

According to Freddie Mac, the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.33% for the week ending April 23, up two basis points from the prior week but still very close to the record bottom of 3.29% reached in March.

According to a new study by Lending Tree, however, various lenders’ rates may differ by as much as one percentage point in many U.S. regions.
