Mortgage Rates Flirt with 7%, Stay at 20-Year High

U.S. long-term mortgages have edged ever closer to 7% while staying at their highest since 2002. So reports Yahoo! Money.

arrow up iconThe 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.94% in the week ending October 20, up two basis points from the week before, according to Freddie Mac.

That’s more than twice the level at the start of the year and up a whole point since early September.
