Mortgage Rates Fall for Fifth Straight Week

U.S. long-term mortgage rates have recorded their fifth consecutive weekly decline amid moderating inflation. So reports CNN.

arrow 98577 1280According to Freddie Mac, the average on the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage was 6.27% in the week ending April 13, compared with 6.28% the previous week and 5% a year earlier.

Freddie Mac economist Sam Khater cited “increased optimism among prospective homebuyers as the housing market hits its peak in the spring and summer.”
