Mortgage Rates Dip to Lowest Since September 2022

Fresh indicators of cooling inflation have pushed long-term U.S. mortgage rates to their lowest levels since last September. So reports CNN.

Freddie Mac 150x150According to Freddie Mac, the average on the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage was 6.15% in the week ending January 19, down 18 basis points from the previous week. That’s still up from 3.56% a year ago.

Freddie Mac economist Sam Khater noted that the decline came amid signs that inflation might have peaked.
