Florida businesses that allegedly targeted Hispanics in violation of the Fair Housing Act have agreed to pay $4.5 million in a consent order, according to the Department of Justice. So reports the Orlando Sentinel.
The DOJ accused Advocate Law Groups of Florida, Summit Development Solutions and others of targeted, predatory loan modification services.
Authorities claimed that in Spanish-language ads, the businesses falsely vowed to slash mortgage payments in half.
