Jobless Claims Fall for Fourth Week to New Pandemic Low

The jobs picture continues to brighten, as initial unemployment claims have fallen for four straight weeks now, reaching a 14-month low. So reports Yahoo! Finance.

DOL2According to the Department of Labor’s weekly report, first-time jobless claims dipped to 406,00 for the week ending May 22, down from 444,000 a week earlier and below the 425,000 consensus estimate.

The pre-pandemic weekly pace of new jobless claims was slightly more than 200,000.
