Home Purchase Sentiment Falls to Lowest Since May 2020

Consumers have indicated that they are feeling their most downbeat about buying a home since early in the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s according to Fannie Mae’s Home Purchase Sentiment Index.

Fannie Mae2 150x150According to Fannie Mae, the index dropped 4.7 points in April to 68.5, the lowest level since May 2020.

“This sentiment is consistent with our forecast of decelerating home sales through the rest of 2022 and into 2023," Fannie Mae chief economist Doug Duncan said in a statement.
