FHFA Unveils Underserved Market Plans for GSEs

The Federal Housing Finance Agency has announced its 2022-2024 underserved market plans for government-sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

FHFA2FHFA acting director Sandra Thompson said in a statement, “Providing sustainable liquidity for affordable housing preservation, rural housing, and manufactured housing in a safe and sound manner is an integral part of the Enterprises’ responsibility to serve underserved markets.”

The plans are part of the Duty to Serve program, required under the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008.
