FHA Eyes Changes for Accessory Dwelling Units

The Federal Housing Administration has proposed updates to its guidelines with the aim of making it easier to build or buy a home with an accessory dwelling unit. So reports the Los Angeles Times.

Federal Housing AdministrationUnder the proposal, lenders could start considering future rental income when determining a borrower’s eligibility for a renovation loan.

FHA Commissioner Julia R. Gordon said the proposal is intended to expand the housing supply and help more people generate property income.
