Construction Spending Rises 0.6%, Led By Home Building

U.S. construction spending increased for a fifth consecutive month in November, increasing by a hefty 0.6%, according to the Commerce Department. So reports the Associated Press.

Leading the way was home construction, which was up by 1.9%. In October, overall construction spending increased a scant 0.1% and home construction rose 0.7%.

Home building was bolstered by a strong job market and historically low interest rates.
