Big Landlords Go After Evictions Despite Federal Measures

Large landlords with multistate property portfolios have been among the busiest in filing eviction cases against households, despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s moratorium on evictions. So reports Reuters.

Eviction final 4896425 640Big corporate landlords have launched almost 70,000 eviction proceedings in 27 counties alone across seven states reviewed by Chicago-based nonprofit the Private Equity Stakeholder Project.

A number of the landlords, particularly those concentrating on single-family homes, have seen profits and share prices climb amid wealthier families’ pandemic-era shift toward the suburbs.
