Biden Unveils Measures to Address Housing Discrimination

President Joe Biden has announced new measures aimed at combating racial discrimination in the housing market as part of an effort to shrink the racial wealth gap. So reports Business Insider.

Marcia Fudge 1 1 e1615567977821 100x100The White House said in a press release that Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge will lead an interagency effort to address yawning disparities in home appraisals.

According to a 2018 study by center-left think tank the Brookings Institution, homes in majority-Black neighborhoods were frequently appraised at tens of thousands of dollars less than similar homes in mostly white areas.
