30-Year Mortgage Rate Slips to 6.33%

Freddie Mac has announced that the average for the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage fell 15 basis points to 6.33% in the week ending January 12. So reports CNN.

Freddie Mac 150x150“While mortgage rates have resumed their decline, the market remains hypersensitive to rate movements, with purchase demand experiencing large swings relative to small changes in rates," Freddie Mac economist Sam Khater said in a statement.

The 30-year fixed rate averaged 3.45% in the same period a year ago.
