The FTC and DFPI claim that the companies (which do business as Home Matters USA, Academy Home Services, Atlantic Pacific Service Group, and Golden Home Services America) and their owners Dominic Ahiga and Roger Scott Dyer charged thousands based on false mortgage modification promises.
The defendants sometimes even represented they were involved with government COVID-19 relief programs, according to the two agencies, which are bringing their first-ever joint case.
