MBA Sees 2019 Originations Hitting Pre-crisis Heights

The Mortgage Bankers Association has announced that it forecasts originations to reach levels this year not seen since before the financial crisis and Great Recession.

According to a press release, MBA projects originations will total about $2.06 trillion for 2019, the best year since 2007 when the total was $2.31 trillion.

MBA predicts originations will fall in 2020, however, to about $1.89 trillion, with interest rates expected to remain low amid an uncertain economic outlook.
