FHFA Extends Multifamily Forbearance Through March

The Federal Housing Finance Agency has pushed back the end date to March 31 for its forbearance program for landlords with multifamily mortgages. So reports Yahoo Finance.

The program, which covers about 8.6 million households in 170,000 properties, was previously set to expire on December 31.

“Due to the continued presence of COVID-19 in our communities and its disproportionate impact on renters, FHFA will extend forbearance multifamily offerings and tenant protections beyond the end of the year and through the first quarter of 2021,” FHFA director Mark Calabria said in a statement.
