Although the bank did not disclose the number of employees affected, markets hit by the cuts apparently include Phoenix; San Antonio; Minneapolis; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Des Moines, Iowa.
“The home lending displacements this week are the result of cyclical changes in the broader home lending environment,” Wells Fargo said in a statement.
