Mortgage Rates Ease to Four-Month Low Amid Inflation Optimism

U.S. long-term mortgage rates have continued their weeks-long downward trajectory, slipping to their lowest point in four months. So reports Bloomberg.

arrow down icon 157360 1280According to Freddie Mac, the 30-year loan averaged 2.93% in the week ending June 17, down three basis points from the week before and a low since the week ending February 18.

Freddie Mac chief economist Sam Shakter noted in a statement that “markets concur with the view that inflation increases are temporary.”
