Big corporate landlords have launched almost 70,000 eviction proceedings in 27 counties alone across seven states reviewed by Chicago-based nonprofit the Private Equity Stakeholder Project.
A number of the landlords, particularly those concentrating on single-family homes, have seen profits and share prices climb amid wealthier families’ pandemic-era shift toward the suburbs.
