The White House said in a press release that Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge will lead an interagency effort to address yawning disparities in home appraisals.
According to a 2018 study by center-left think tank the Brookings Institution, homes in majority-Black neighborhoods were frequently appraised at tens of thousands of dollars less than similar homes in mostly white areas.
