“Homeowners with government-backed mortgages that have been negatively impacted by the pandemic” will be eligible for assistance of up to about 25% of their monthly payments, according to a White House fact sheet.
The plan is meant to better coordinate the mortgage regimes for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Agriculture and the Veterans’ Affairs Department with those for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mae, the White House said.
