Commercial Real Estate Investors Face Difficult 2021

As the world puts 2020 in the rear view, the real reckoning for U.S. commercial real estate owners may be still to come. So reports MarketWatch.

Pat Jackson, founder of Sabal Capital Partners in Irvine, Calif., said that while in the long-term he’s upbeat about some assets, such as multifamily housing, “a lot of distress” is also brewing after almost a year of COVID-19 disruptions.

Lisa Pendergast, executive director at the CRE Finance Council, noted that the resurgence of coronavirus infections has only exacerbated concerns for the commercial real estate market.
